I made the above picture while I was frustrated with what I was doing. Sometimes actually often I feel like I don't have a talent for this and why am I doing this and wasting time and resources for something I can't do. I seem to have lost myself so to speak..scratch that. There is something I have been wanting to do for years and I want to write a children's book. There I said it out loud. But I am terrified to start..this is something I REALLY want to do. But I know I have to try....so I hope to get started soon and so I might not post as often as I do...but I have concept and I AM GOING TO TRY! So send me good thoughts! : )

The above page is completed and I just love all the colors. I have been trying to experiment with different color combinations since I don't have a color wheel. Which doesn't make sense and I should purchase one but I kind of like creating colors on my own.

A few more pages from my art journal. I have been working on a few different things at once. But I will be sharing more art journal pages soon.

I have also been taking Dina Wakley "Masterful Art Journaling" and it is really a great class a lot of the techniques I knew already but I like that she get's into art in general giving you different artists to work from and learn how they clicked when they created. It makes you think a bit and to try things outside the of the bubble so to speak. I have also been doing a lot of experimental techniques myself a couple have worked others not so much. But it's all in fun.

A couple more pages from my art journal. I'm not sure they are complete or if I will scrapbook them, draw or write text but for now I think I'm done.

I'm still working on my ideas for homemade Christmas presents who knew that selecting fabric would be my biggest obstacle. I plan on taking a ride over to Hobby Lobby after DD kindergarten test to check out fabric over there since I didn't find anything at JoAnns. By the way does anyone know of a website I can visit that might have fabric with books on them? My MIL is a Librarian and Community College teacher and she loves to read so I'm looking for something related to her likes.

While reading Heidi Swapp's blog this morning I discovered that she is moving back to Utah which makes me sad. It was nice knowing she lived in Arizona because I wanted to take one of her classes at our local scrapbook store but was never able to make it due to time conflicts. So now I'm bummed. : ( Don't get me wrong I am happy for her and her family I just wish I had a chance to meet her. She is one of my most favorite people in the scrapbooking industry. But alas it wasn't in the cards and perhaps she will come back for an occasional class and I'll have my chance to meet her. I wish her and her family the best of luck in Utah.

Here are a couple of new art journal pages I'm trying new idea's and techniques so these are a bit rough. Today is going to be a busy day. Need to clean bathrooms, Yeah! : ( and I need to go out and purchase a present for my Dad his birthday is next week.

Tomorrow is DD's kindergarten test; yes test. I don't remember ever having to take a test to get into kindergarten the school says it's to see if she is mentally ready for kindergarten. It doesn't make sense to me considering that for the last 50-60 years kids have been doing just fine. I don't know....it's silly to me.

Here are a few more art journal entries. I have since created two more and currently working on a third. In addition I have been in the creative process of doing a couple of scrapbook pages from DD 5th birthday last week and I need to gather all her birthday cards and place them in her memory box I thought I would keep all birthday cards till her 18th birthday. I have always thought that it would fun for her to read them all when she got older along with the post cards her G-Ma in Nebraska sends her. So I will going to hobby lobby, Joanns or Michaels in search of picture boxes.

I finally finished my art journal a couple of days ago. The pictures aren't that great a bit lazy to get the camera out so I used photo booth.

The picture above was done randomly while watching DD and her friend play outside.

I have started a new journal and will show you what I have done really soon, most likely next Monday. I also have a few creative ideas up my sleeve as well so I'll keep you posted.

I have to take DD to school pretty soon but I wanted to leave a quick note.

I haven't really been crafting that much, however I did help DD with an embroidery project she was doing as a present for Preschool teacher at the end of the month. It looking so cute. As soon as it is completed I will share it with you. I also made a hanging pocket organizer that I saw in a book, wish I could remember the name of the book. Maybe it was in my Bend-The- Rules Sewing book I don't know. When I remember I'll let you know. Again, I will share that photo with you soon.

I just purchased this book at Barnes and Noble and it is fantastic! It is packed full of colorful images, fancy lettering, doodling, how to create backgrounds, how to do image transfers and how to get started on your art journal voyage. It is a must have book!! : )

Dolls

Below is my very first doll and as you can see she was crudely made. DD helped with the hat and that looks sooo bad but I let her help. My daughter is wonderful and loved this doll long neck and all and named her Alice.

The doll below is my second attempt on making a doll and she turned out a lot better but still rough around the edges. My daughter chose her dress and as you can see I let her help me sew the legs on. All in all I think she did a good job. As you may notice she doesn't have any eyebrows or hair that decision was made by my daughter. So we have a eyebrow and hairless doll which she named Sarah. She loves these dolls and sleeps with them every night which makes my heart sing! It truly is the little things you do for your kids that bring the most joy!

Bag is finally finished!

Here is the finished project! And I know it's a bit crude and rough around the edges but I absolutely love it!!! I am so proud of myself for facing my fear of sewing and did it!

Below is a close up of the two "love birds" and the hand embroidery I did; again I know it's a bit crude but it was so much fun!

My next sewing project is going to be an attempt to make The Princess a doll at of muslin and other fabric. I will post a picture after it's completed.

Tomorrow I'm going to share the picture frames I made.

Well, it was a quite weekend here at home, dear daughter and I basically hung out and played a few board games. We are working on how to win with out boasting and how to learn how to lose without crying, it's a work in progress.

I really need to get her invitations for little b-day party out today but I'm kind of caught up on wanting to sew today : ( but her party is at the end of the month and I need to give everyone a heads up. So I will either make invitations or buy them.

So that's about it I need to get things done.

New Haircut

I got so tired of my hair! All I ever did was put up in a pony tail or put it up with a hair clip. This is basically what my hair looks like 24/7. It was easy to do and a no brainer but why have med-length hair and do this. Sooooooooo......

with my coupon in hand I headed to the Fantastic Sams for a haircut. I think it turned out great and I love it! Talk about easy maintenance and I don't necessary have to have color correction to get all the black out of my hair. It actually looks good not to mention how wonderful my hair feels. I didn't notice how coarse it was till my hair cut was finished an blow dryed. I love you it, the princess is next she will have a trim next Thursday.

These are not the best photo's but when your a bit lazy and don't want to deal with the camera and the cord and etc, this is what you do, take photo's using photo booth. If anyone knows how I can flip the photo please let me know?.

As you can see I'm obsessed with birds, cups and clouds.

For some reason I have been fixated on Alice and Wonderland especially the Mad Hatter so this is my version...although he does look like he's demented, LOL. But I plan on working on getting him right.

I love the above picture and I basically copied it from lauriescharmingdesigns.blogspot.com. She is an amazing artist and I love the original picture she drew and wanted to copy it since I couldn't purchase a copy myself. I have been wanting to make a bird and cup kind of thing but didn't know exactly how to do it, nor how to add just the right amount of shading. But copying (or at least trying to) Laurie's has open up a whole new door for me to express.

As well know I was down and out for a few days but whatever bug I had is G-O-N-E!! I don't think I would have been able to handle it anymore. YUCK!

Anyway, I was able to get at least one scrapbook page done (after all if Mommy is down, nothing get's done!) so I'm grateful for that. I have a couple of pages in my art journal completed as well. I will be sharing those most likely tomorrow.

I wanted to make something really natural looking and this is what I came up with. I believe the paper is Jenni Bowlin and the swirls are from Tim Holtz's grunge,and the embroidered heart is something my daughter did with the exception of the little pink heart. I think she did pretty well for her first time considering she is 4.

I plan on purchasing some fabric and stuffing this week so that I can play with my new sewing machine and I want to pick up another embroidery hoop for my daughter so she has her own.

Sick,sick, sick

I have been sick the last 4 days with a stomach ick! My daughter started it last week and was out of commission for a day and a half then my husband caught it and was down for about a day. Well, last Monday it was my turn and it obviously hit me the worst. I didn't start to feel better till Wednesday night and was about 90% yesterday but still feel like I was able to drive...the Princess and I layed low yesterday. But I'm happy to report that I feel almost back to normal. I hate being sick especially when things are coming out of both ends (wink, wink). I have never thrown up so much in my life!! On the positive side I did loose some weight but what a way to do it, LOL!

So as I continue to lay low and get some things down I hope you have a wonderful Memorial day weekend.

Today I am trying my hand at embroidery and so far so good, I think. LOL. Please forgive me I don't know how to flip it over on my Mac Photo Booth. But I'm happy with my outcome.

Found the above at Etsy at Polarity's shop. Is it not cool. I plan on purchasing one of these for my sister as a Christmas present. I absolutely love it I may have to order one for myself! Be sure to check out the other wonderful things she makes.

This is a painting that just sort of created itself. Originally I was planning on an art journal page and it developed into this. I call her "Emily" I don't know why other than she looks like one.

I know the turquoise kind of makes it dark but as I said this page was originally going to be an art journal page. I'm not really an artist but I may give drawing another picture soon and see how it looks in a natural setting.

Aren't these flowers pretty? They were my Mother's Day gift from my parents. I love how they look in my Franscian china vase.

Above is a picture of the sitting area in my living room. The walls are painted an off white and I can't decide whether to paint one wall a green from the pillows as an accent color or paint the table a nice distressed white or do both. My sister comes for a visit in a couple of months I'll either know by then or she will help with the decision. So we'll see.

So should I paint the table white? I'll be posting some photo's of my living room again and hopefully some of you will give me some idea.

Received this card and present from the Princess for Mother's Day.

I can tell you that the best presents are those that your children make you with their two little hands. I absolutely love this heart the Princess made for me. The Princess informed me that not only did she incorporate my favorite colors (pink/green) she included hers, blue. I love it!!!!
This is a something Princess made in preschool it's a bee hive but I have yet to find out why they made a bee hive. Princess had no reason other than it was really fun and if we can make one at home. So needless to say we will be making one of these this week or something similar in construction.

My M.I.L's sent me a Borders gift card and I was able to purchase most of the above with it...whoooo hooo. I have been waiting for a while now for Jen Lancaster's new book "Pretty in Plaid" so I am in the process of devouring it now! I also bought "Bend-The-Rules_Sewing, considering my Hubby purchased a new sewing machine for me, I'm so excited!!!! I know nothing about sewing so I know this book will come in handy. I seem to be all over the place. I love mixed media, painting, scrapbooking, embroidery (need to learn), photography, and now sewing. I'm trying to find out something to make that I can incorporate everything together in one piece of art. I'll let you know what I come up with!

I also purchase the "Where Woman Create" I now I did a blog entry about this but I think I was thinking about it when I wrote the blog post because I just bought it. I don't know what I was thinking during that post! I love it although I do find it funny to some of them fully decked out in their studio's I know that I'm normally in old shorts, shirt and minimal makeup with my hair up. But oh well your studio is in a magazine might as well look your best, LOL!! It really is a great magazine. I saw some of my favorites featured in the magazine as well as other's I never heard of. I was shocked (sort of) to learn about Marie Osmond's creative side. So it was interesting reading.

How did you celebrate Mother's Day? I made spaghetti and salad and had family come over. It was quite but really nice because I spent time with the Princess in the pool. Hope you had a great day!

Love this buffet table below I have been looking for something like this for the last 6 months. I plan on venturing out tomorrow and see if I'll find it this weekend. It's absolutely beautiful.

I also love this master bedroom below everything from the wall color, bedding, lighting ...EVERYTHING!!! This room is a real inspiration.

Trying new things..

Little girls thrills. The Princess wanted an art project so we bought a cute little jewlery box that she could paint and here are the results. She did a very good job and it turned out so nicely and more importantly she is very pleased with herself.

I have been wanting to paint this wall Robin's Egg blue but decided that I would paint the candle sticks on each side instead. I love the pop of color but I think this paticular wall is going to be a nice shade of green.Not sure of the shade of green but I think it will compliment the pillows that I'm using as inspiration. I will share that with you tomorrow.

Gardening

Last week sometime The Princess and I did a little gardening. We planted a Lavendar plant, a little herb garden..Salvia, Basil, Green Bell Pepper and Peas.

We also planted a Strawberry plant as seen below. Inside we started Tomatoes and Lavendar plants from seed. So far the Lavendar has sprouted. I'll keep you posted on our green thumb progress.

Below is a page that I'm currently working on in my art journal. I plan on taking an online class "Layers of Love" with Julie Prichards starting May 18th. I am so excited!

Went to Traders Joes today to get a couple of items and had to stop by Michaels...It's conveniently located right next door. Anyway, I purchase a book and the new Artful Blogging but I did see then new "Where Women Create" I enjoyed about 1/2 of it and the rest was just strange. I mean horses are nice and everything but not in an artist studio magazine...the studios, office,work areas and etc were beautiful but why so much make up and hair styling? This isn't a beauty magazine. I found awfully hard to purchase this magazine for $14.99 if the other half of the magazine is like Miss America. I hope the future magazines are going to be like this one. Such a bummer too..I'll just have to wait till I can find it at the Thirft store. Were you as disappointed?

I did manage to find and purchase the book below while at Michaels. I don't know why I didn't know abut this book before but I love it. Such simply instructions and wonderfully written. I would recommend this book if you want to learn and enjoy some Doodling.

During Obummers campaign his whole thing was CHANGE well he wasn't lying. He is taking everything our Founding Father's created and trashing it, tearing it up and then stomping on it!!! As if he's "plan" on creating a ONE WORLD country was enough now he's spewing out other ridiculous ideas like what we'll for one he's been talking about Health care for everyone, LOL that's funny I just hope no one has a life threatening disease because you WILL have to take a number, also now he's talking about not being able to take a tax deduction when donating items to a church, or how about this one not being able to take a tax credit/deduction on your house come tax time.

We were people thinking when them made this guy President? I don't even think he is a Christian as he claims, if he were why is he trying to take it away from us? Can someone please explain this to me?!! I can tell you this no matter what this guy does he will never take away my FAITH in GOD or prevent me from praying or going to service every Sunday!!!

My sister told me about the sale Kohl's was having yesterday and today. I haven't seen so many low prices in God knows how long! I went looking for place mats for our kitchen table found some great one's for $1.00 ea. and bought some great frames 50% or more off, scored again.

Also found the one outfit and shirt for the Princess, I'm telling she is growing like a weed I bought all 3 items for like $15.00 or less.

I also purchased the above outfit for my Niece who will be turning 1 in September but I usually buy things waaaayyy ahead of time. I already purchased some goods for Father's Day just need two more items.

Look who got a haircut?

Smokey always looks great after a haircut and he usually has a little spring in his step afterward and this time was no different. He usually parades around the house for about an hour either getting use to feeling lighter or to show off, I would go with the later. Smokey is a Shi-Poo half Shih Tzu and Poodle but with this new haircut he obviously look more Poodle than Shih Tzu but we love him anyway, LOL.

Did a little shopping today, started out get just one thing and then....

Bought two of this pillow below, for $9.99 each to put on my brown couch in the family room. Love them, love the blue.

I then purchased 4 of the above plate for $2.99 ea. same place as the pillows Marshalls. I plan on displaying them on the wall near the kitchen table. I'll show once I have them up but I need to go to Hobby Lobby to get the plate hooks.

***Edited*** O.K. some of you know that we moved into a new house...blah, blah, blah and that we have 2500sqf...blah, blah, blah..but what you may not know is that only the bedrooms have carpet (3) the rest of the house is all TILE or wood laminate(offices)and I just got through using the "Shark" steam cleaner and my floors look and feel grrrrreeeeaaatttt! Just had to let you know, AGAIN! : )

I wish I could say I purchased this iron plant stand for $5.00 but I didn't although I did get it on sale for $16.00, I just had to have it and I think it looks good just outside of our front door.

I am currently looking for a Welcome sign to place just above it on the wall but I have yet to find one I really like or that doesn't cost an arm and leg. I mean I think $40.00 + is a lot for an metal "Welcome" sign, don't you think. I know your thinking well, "you just bought an iron stand for $16.00", yes your right but it's iron not metal and not flimsy (did I spell that right?). Any idea's where I can find one?

It is fantastic and I had to try it as soon as I got home I was just so excited. I own a Swiffer and it works really but this blows it out of the water! You may have to go over the same spot (if something is dried on the floor) a couple of times but my tile has never looks so good and feel so good and the floor dries so fast. I love it!!

Seriously, as a Nation and as a People don't we have enough to worry about with the recession and this so called Government, now we have to worry about the Swine Flu. How can anyone deny what is stated in the book of Revelations but oh but I know there are a few. Ughhh, I am so frustrated with all this stuff!!

It's been a pretty nice day here in Arizona, a light breeze and temps in the 80's. I have been feeling a bit under the weather today (allergies), and The Princess was up half the night coughing (also with allergies). One day she will learn to blow her nose instead of sucking everything back in, right? Tell me she will.....LOL, it wasn't till early this morning I remembered about the humidifier. Needless to say I woke up achy and my head hurt but nothing that a few hours sleep and tylenol couldn't help. Feel better now though...although the Princess had to miss a birthday party but I think she'll get over it.

Thank you to those who commented on my last post, I'm still doing some research and will be purchasing my new sewing machine soon. I'm also in the process of researching bikes. I need one!

Trying new things

Ok, I took sewing in junior high and made an apron, which I don't think turned out too bad. So I have dappled in scrapbooking, alter art, painting, mixed media, and photography.

So now I have seen so many great quilts and what people can do with a sewing machine. So last month I dusted off my Toyota sewing machine and tried it out only to find out something was broken. O.k. someone tell me how something can break when I haven't used it since what....2002. Hello....am I missing something here!! So I now plan on purchasing a new sewing machine. I think I may have found one at Target, one of my favorite stores. But I need some feed back. I know that some of you readers sew so I would greatly

appreciate your opinion on this sewing machine. Or perhaps you can recommend something in the same price range.

Is or isn't not April? Yesterday it was over a FREAKIN' 100 degrees here in Arizona!! And today it's something in the 90's, what the hell is going on! I might melt out here if it weren't for this (below)! If the weather keeps up we might be hitting the pool this weekend.

Other news, I am trying to sell this dining room table and sofa table for $200.00 and have it listed on Craigslist. However, I was wondering if anyone knows of anyone who lives in Arizona who might be looking for one. I need to get this out of my garage so we can put the car back in the garage! It's getting freakin' hot out here!

I haven't been creating much lately been too busy. But I hope to get back on the wagon again soon, keep your fingers crossed. I have been reading a lot as you may have heard already. You really must check out Jen Lancaster's book, she is fantastic and I can really relate to her.

The Princess is becoming quite the artist. She is really into drawing houses and trees. The other day at Sunday school she drew me and her walking in thin air. It was to cute, I'd show it to you but Daddy has it.

Not much going on today, my Dad had eye surgery yesterday I think to remove catarats so we have a follow up appt. this morning. So we're getting ready because we have to leave earlier today because we have to drop of the Princess on the way.

These three movies were the epitome of the 80's if you were a teenager and I had the pleasure of viewing all three of these at the movie theater. Yes, I know I'm dating myself but who cares!! I still love these movies and my daughter has seen a couple of these, well perhaps as back round music while she's been playing but that counts for something right?! Gosh, I kind of miss those days.....Hey, I did say kinda! Ahhhhh, youth!

Anyway, I have been reading up a storm lately and right now I'm in the process of reading Jen Lancaster's books. I read "Such a Pretty Fat" and now I'm reading "Bitter is the New Black". I love these books and Jen is a great writer but be sure to read these in order (I should have read "Bitter is the New Black first) well you don't have to but I have found that it makes things easier. Jen is around my age so when she makes reference to things in the 80's I can relate which brings me to this post. After reading (and currently reading) her books I have begun to reflect on my youth. I loved the 80's!!! Sigh......... Things were so much easier per say...things were so different, clothes, food, hair, and music. I love, love 80's music...yes even without real instruments!! At least there wasn't any foul language and the songs made sense....didn't they?

Anyway, here are a couple of more finds at the antique store.

I love the above dresser is beautiful and I may have posted it in my previous post but I do love, love this piece. I may just have to go back and purchase this baby. : )

The above bench is another favorite piece and I'm in LOVE with it. Not sure if it will find a way into my home but it just might; I would paint it green not too green but green.

Went to my favorite antique store the other day for an hour or so and found a few items that I really liked.

How cool are the above trunks? I loved them but I think for all 3 the price was like over $300.00. I may go back and check out the large and medium one's again.

Love the above dress. I would have bought it in a second but not sure if I have a place for it. Ohh but I do like it!

I thought the above chair was cool.

The princess received the above socks in her Easter basket from Gee Gee and Uncle Court(her Aunt Charlene). She loved them so much that she was doing a Happy dance. I must admit they were adorable and can someone tell me why they didn't have them in adult sizes? I mean really we miss out on so many cute things!!

O.K. people the diet is going well did exercise yesterday and the legs are hurting, thank you very much! Once more I wish someone would have told me that once you have children be prepared to be like an 80 year old woman who must wear depends. I mean really is it necessary to pee (I know gross!) just a little when doing jumping jacks or god forbid but sneeze or cough! OMGoodness, I don't know what happened. Now don't start tell me about those Kiegal exercises...I having a hard time remembering to breath and hold my stomach in when I exercise now but to remember to tighten and release things down there is another story. Grew knowing that in life nothing is certain other than death and taxes (hope you did yours!) but for women someone she toss in peeing in your pants (just a little) after having children!!

Yesterday was "D" Day. I started my diet. It has been a long time coming and after DH made a comment that maybe losing weight would help with my allergy headaches I knew it was time. DH never makes these kind of comments. So I guess you can call it a wake up call. I have purchased exercise video's and plan on walking the dog at least twice a day but we'll see what happens. After all I do live in AZ and it really get's hot during the summer.

I hope everyone had a Wonderful Easter with your respective families. We did. We enjoyed church service and breakfast hosted by the Boy Scouts at church. All my daughter and husband had to hear was the word "pancakes" and I knew we weren't going anywhere.

With our daughter an only child and all cousins old enough to be here parent she didn't have to fight or try very hard on her Easter Egg hunt. But from the photo's you can see that she had a blast.

Where did yesterday's post go? Hmmm... I know I hit publish post and yet there isn't a post entry for yesterday. Go figure.

Anyway, I am slowly trying to finish decorating our house but I just can't seem to want to spend $$ on a rug when the sizes I need are close to $300.00 I just can't justify that amount.

It's amazing how time flies. We have two birthday parties coming up in a two week period, thank goodness I did my shopping before we left.

It's funny how you leave for a few days and when you return there is so much that needs to be done. We have mostly tile in our house and I find that I have to sweep everyday and mop at least two times a week. But I recently saw a Shark steamer mop at Walmart for about $90.00 and I was wondering if anyone that reads my blog has one or knows someone who has one and what you/they think about it. I don't want to spend the money if it's not worth it, considering that there are a few things on my want/need list that is either at $90 or over.

I also wanted to share a new page in my Art Journal isn't the little girl just precious? I started another while on my trip but I don't like the way it turned out so I'm going to have to start over. But first I want to do a couple of scrap page layouts from our trip to the Reagan Presidential Library. If your ever in Southern California you really ought to check it out the facility is beautiful and there are killer views!

Well, the Princess and I are back for Ca. and we had a fabulous time! I tried to visit a few scrapbook stores but some weren't open when I went and a few had closed. Which was a real bummer 'cause there website never mentioned it. Go figure!

Anyway, I did manage to get to one of Rachel Ashwell's Shabby Chic stores and was sadden to see that she is not only closing this store but all her stores. But will continue her line at Target thank goodness. : ) I didn't really buy anything considering even though there was a sale it wasn't much of one 30% and some of the items were well in the thousands but I did get one item in honor of her close out. Share it with you another time.

Took the Princess to the Merry Go Round last Tuesday and she was so excited before hand but once the ride started she was a little scared, LOL. We didn't make it a second time. With time she will enjoy this ride I always do.

I did add some journaling to this page after but I love the way it looks here too.

And as it turns out when the Appliance Repair men arrived my worst fears came true. The dryer motor was dead so now I'll have to go over the weekend and purchase a new one. Well new to me, I plan on purchasing a refurbished dryer. Makes more sense to me considering at Spencer's they do give you a warranty so that sounds great to me. But it really was a bummer to hear. Oh well... have a great weekend!

The second photo is my Ode to Elsie Flannigan at the time the picture was taken it wasn't complete but you get the gest of it. I love her drawings and she is so talented.

Yesterday I spent the daughter with Princess. We went to the movies to see Marley and Me at the cheap show. Get this on Tuesdays all movies are $1.00! Yes, that's right a $1.00! I'm already planning a return trip next Tuesday to take her to see the Tale of Despereaux. I have heard great things about the movie.

Hi, here is a picture of Princess with the collage she made. It's she precious and she did such a great job on her collage. It's a person (I think she said it was Mommy) and the top right hand corner is the sun. I think it looks fantastic.!

I am so glad that she loves to be with me in the studio. I love sitting almost side by side when we are creating. Sometimes, we are quiet other times we sing or simply talk. I just love spending time with this little girl!!

Yesterday, I couldn't find Smokey he wasn't in the studio with me so I went looking for him. Didn't have to go far he was in the living room as relaxed as could be. Feeling better knowing where he was I went back into the studio.
Wen't to check on him again and he had this .."Can I help you with something?"...look.Towards late afternoon and needing to do some real work I came into the living room to this..... I think you can just about hear him ZZZZZZzzzzzzz.....

I suppose your heard about Natasha Richardson, how sad is that story? I know my daughter loved her in the new "Parent Trap" with Dennis Quaid and Lindsay Lohan (when she was normal). She will be sadly missed and I keep her family in my thoughts and prayers.

So today I plan on starting to "pretending" that I'm already inside the life I've always envisioned. We had a wonderful weekend. We spent the weekend at my parents house and I don't know who tired out who, my Dad or the Princess.

We also painted and worked in our art journal. Worked outside in the with flowers mostly pruning and etc. The Princess loves all the flowers and such so were both loving SPRING!!

Here are a couple of my art journal pages that I completed over the weekend. I'm still trying to figure out my style and how to incorporate what I want to do with the shape that I have. As usual I'm still a work in progress but I'm enjoying myself and not taking myself so seriously.

Oh but have you guys checked out the new Flea Market Style magazine? I just discovered it this weekend and it has so many helpful tips and ideas. I don't know if this is just some random publication or if they produce more but I LOVE, LOVE this magazine!!!! I didn't find a subscription card so I'm guessing this is a special issue so run out there and grab a copy if you are fond of Flea Market decor!!! (Sorry, the picture is sideways but I can't figure out how to turn it around)

Well, we survived Friday the 13th, LOL. I didn't realize it was yesterday to late in the day! And as promised here are a couple of pages from my art journal. I am finding it hard to be really creative due to its size and shape but I think as I go along the creativeness will come out. If you have any suggestions let me know. Oh and does anyone know what pens work well on painted pages besides the sharpie pens? I tend to have problems with some of them.

OMG, have any of you discovered Ballard Designs? I just received my catalog and I want one of everything. They really carry some great stuff and the prices aren't too bad. It's probably a good thing they don't have a store here other wise we would be in serious trouble.

Well, let's see .... our beloved Smokey (our dog) has a limp. I just discovered this yesterday and I'm not sure what he did. I mean I let him out as usual in the morning and let him in after a couple of hours (he needed to do his business outside, thank you) and he came in with a limp. It's is rear left leg. I checked it out and he doesn't cry out or anything when I touch it or move it up and down. I look at his toes and they looked fine but today he hardly puts any weight on it. But it hasn't dampered his spirit any, he still continues to jump on the sofa, play with his toys and room to the front door when he hears something. So I wonder if he may have twisted something or pulled something. I thought I would give it till the end of the weekend and see what happens.

Not having that great of a week DH told me some news yesterday regarding "some interesting" job opportunities in NE. This through me for a loop considering when our daughter was born we had decided that certain circumstances would have to present themselves before we ever considered moving out of state, and they haven't yet. So for now I'm praying about this.

It seems I am having problems with uploading pictures so no pic's today. Had a wonderful weekend. Princess and I went to Mystic Paper to take a look around and ending up by far too many goodies. Darn that Tim Holtz and those great products for scrapbooking, mixed media, and jewlery making. Oh and I did purchase some of Claudine Hellmuth paint and paint brushes most of her products were gone. But I purchased enough to last a few months.

I am still working on my art journal and so far so good, Debbie Hodge has such a great class! Still trying to sell my dining room table on Craigslist and it's such a shame it's such a great dining room set and I can't sell it for $300.00 : ( and people seem to want it for free $100, It's can such an insult. I know times are tough but really $100.00??

My family and I tried a new Church yesterday and it was nice but different. I grew up Catholic and my husband Methodist so for compromise we decided on a Christian church. My DH and I both liked the new church but it did have a something that we just didn't grasp. So alas we find out more about it and also try another next Sunday. We will find a home church it's really important to our family!
