Wow, only a couple days left till 2009!  Where has 2008 gone? The year just sort of flew by well one of my resolutions is to really enjoy 2009 and take each day as it comes and enjoy it.  I also plan on starting a written and pictorial journal. I think it will be fun at the end of 2009 to re-read some of the things that happened and re-live them all over again besides it will be nice for Princess to have later.  What do you plan on doing in 2009?

Well, Christmas is just a few days away and we're still trying to get ready.  The high here in Chandler, AZ is going to be in the 60's today and the rest of the week it will be in the 50's which is cold for us.  I can't wait!

The photo's above are of the "Princess" by our Christmas tree just before her Christmas performance , a picture of her with her stroller and scarf and a Christmas ornament that I made.  I know it isn't anything fancy but I was going for something simple and I'm quite happy with it.

The Princess and I have been baking up a storm we made a White and Red Christmas cake and two kinds of cookies we had a ball.  The Princess had her Christmas performance and Christmas party last Friday her class only sang two songs but they were so cute!!  It's hard to believe that next year she will be starting Kindergarten, wow, the time has flown by!!

Wow, can you believe the weather some people are getting...I mean snow in Las Vegas?  Here in Chandler, Az it is cool like what 46 degrees with a high of 59 and tomorrow it's suppose to be in the low 60's which to me is Christmas weather but wouldn't a little surprise of snow be nice? 

Anyway, I finished a couple of home made decorations nothing major but cute.  Need to get motivated to cook next week and it should be a small gathering so I'm happy about that.

A woman at my husbands job went into early delivery (she was 5 months along) and delivered a baby boy weighing only a little more than a pound.  I asking if you should have the time if you would pray for Jennifer and baby Jackson.  They need all the prayers you can give them she is also in need of personal time so she can stay with her child. I pray for her and their family.

The countdown in our house started on December 1st but now the Princess is really counting down the days till Christmas.  I think most of it is due to little bits of chocolate from the advent calendar but she also knows Santa's coming.

Need your opinion on something.  Here is a picture of my living room now mind you I love my wall colors but I'm going for a shabby chic look and I know I need more color but how should I add color?  Any ideas?

With the economy the way it is my family and I have cut back on a lot of things and in doing so I started to think about all the money we spend on cleaning supplies.  I mean think about it there must be at least 5 different things we use to clean the house.  I happen to find a website www.vinegartips.com here you will find many ideas to use vinegar and other natural and inexpensive ingredients to keep your house clean and germ free. Plus other tabs to explore that uses vinegar please check it out and let me know what you think.

Well, it's finally Friday and I am so ready!  It has been so hard staying in the Christmas spirit with all the bad news out there.  They are so many lay offs you can't but wonder what those people are going to do.  My husband works for the City and they are having a tough time of it and have hiring freeze and he is works in one of the better one's so we're lucky. But what about everyone else how do we help them even when things are tough for us?   Hmmmmmm?

Thanks for letting me get some stuff off my chest believe me there is more but enough for now.

In my last post I should you a photo of the flip camcorder that I was (yes, was) going to purchase for my nephew for his Christmas/Birthday gift and they just keep selling out.  So now I'm concentration on my back up plan....gift cards which is a great idea considering that what he told me wanted initially but I wanted something he could open. Oh well, plan B it is.

Wow, can you believe it will Christmas in 15 days?!  I hope you have finished your shopping I have only one gift yet to get and I'm hoping to purchase off Ebay for a reasonable price.  It's for my nephew it's this:  

So much to do today mostly preparing for Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas Day breakfast the family will meet at our house so there is a lot to do.

Wow, is it really Friday already!  Only 20 more days till Christmas and I still have a few things to get mostly stocking stuffers oh and then there's Christmas dinner yet to plan.   I'm not sure what I'd like to serve this year.  Any ideas?

While I was in California my sister and I went to Agoura Hills to go antique shopping and scored big time when we found not one but 4 antique stores side by side! I was in heaven although we only visited two of the four do to the fact that we had princess with us and that was about her limit.   But I did want to share a few photos from our adventure in antique land and some of Thanksgiving.

We're Baaaack.  We had a wonderful Thanksgiving at my sister's MIL house in Malibu, Ca.  The weather was fantastic and the view well it was just beautiful and the food and company was fantastic.  Here are some pictures.

Is this not the cutest head vase? I must say I do love head vases maybe it's time to start collecting but how would you store them? Hmm... may have to think about this one.

I am currently working on our Christmas stockings and plan to start decorating for Christmas when the Princess comes home from school.

Had a great weekend the Princess and I went up with my parents to Payson, Az.  It is such a great place to go and relax.  The atmosphere is so different up there everything is so laid back and the people are friendly.  We did some walking and of course some antique shopping.  Made a stop at the only independent craft store Paper and Metal scrapers I have been going to that store for just over a year now and I love it.  It's amazing how such a cute little store often has items I can't find here in Chandler.

And a couple of doors down is an antique store did some window shopping it's such a pretty store.  There are few other antique shop's that I love but didn't have time to take those photo's next time.  We we be spending Christmas up in Payson, Az this year!  Yeah!

Is it too early to decorate for Christmas?  I know that Thanksgiving is next week but I have the great urge to start decorating for Christmas if you didn't know Christmas is my favorite holiday!  It's not about presents but about the atmosphere and being around family, Christmas music, food, games and memories.  I have such fond memories of childhood Christmas' when the entire family would get together.  I tell you those were the days now it seems Christmas is so commercialized but I hope for the sake of my daughter and the true meaning of Christmas that we are creating some great Christmas memories for her.

It such a beautiful day in Arizona the temp is around the mid 80's and the evening get down to the high 40's-50's which is fantastic.  The Princess and I find ourselves outside just goofing around right now she has decided to take  my camera outside to the backyard and take random pictures.  It's funny how much she and I are a like in that area.  I will be sure to post the pictures she takes.

I thought I would share a project I did last week.  This was my first attempt of refinishing and painting a piece of furniture and I think it turned out rather well.    

The Princess and I have managed to get some art projects done today as well. We are lucky to be able to do what we do and spend time together.

Well, it looks like Thanksgiving will be here soon and as far as I know we will be spending Thanksgiving with my Sister and her in-laws I can't wait.   It will be really nice to get of town for a  few days.  I was talking to my Dad tonight about spending Christmas up in Payson I'll have to find out if that will work with DH work schedule.  Keep your fingers crossed I'd like to have a white Christmas.

Oh and speaking of Christmas I have finished all shopping and making of Christmas presents. As a matter of fact I mailed a few boxes today to the in-laws and two more boxes tomorrow.  And all I have left is my sister and BIL but if we spend Thanksgiving with them then I'll just take their present with us.   I should correct myself by saying not all Christmas shopping is done. DH and I decided to buy the princess a bike for Christmas so we still have that to purchase along with the helmet.  Now I plan on saving up to buy myself a bike so we can go bike riding together around the neighborhood and over at the park across the street.  It will be so much fun.

Woke up feeling fantastic!  Let's see what's on the agenda today? I finally have a couple of bookcases and tables in the studio so now I can empty some more studio boxes. Need to sweep all the tile and mop, also heading to a vendor faire today and then finally to my parents house. They have been having some work done on their car for the past week so I need to run some errands for them.  So it will be a busy day.
