Took the Princess to the Merry Go Round last Tuesday and she was so excited before hand but once the ride started she was a little scared, LOL.  We didn't make it a second time.   With time she will enjoy this ride I always do.
This is another picture from my art Journal.  I did complete one other but I'm currently working on a new one.  I'll be sure to post it soon.

The Princess and I will leaving for California on Wednesday for a few days and I'm not sure if I will be posting much but you never know.

Hope you all have a wonderful week!

Here are two pages from my new Art Journal I think my work is improving.  I love the Art Journaling 102 class I'm taking over at debbiehodge.com.

And as it turns out when the Appliance Repair men arrived my worst fears came true.  The dryer motor was dead so now I'll have to go over the weekend and purchase a new one. Well new to me, I plan on purchasing a refurbished dryer.  Makes more sense to me considering at Spencer's they do give you a warranty so that sounds great to me.  But it really was a bummer to hear.   Oh well... have a great weekend!

Wednesday, March 25, 2009

Here are the last of my art Journal pages.  I will start a new one today and I'm excited because this one is bigger and square which will make it much easier to create.
The second photo is my Ode to Elsie Flannigan at the time the picture was taken it wasn't complete but you get the gest of it. I love her drawings and she is so talented.

Yesterday I spent the daughter with Princess.  We went to the movies to see Marley and Me at the cheap show.  Get this on Tuesdays all movies are $1.00!  Yes, that's right a $1.00!  I'm already planning a return trip next Tuesday to take her to see the Tale of Despereaux.  I have heard great things about the movie.

Well, that's it for now.  Have a great day!

I am having trouble with Blogger since yesterday trying to up load some pictures, so I will keep on trying.  So here is this for now.

I suppose your heard about Natasha Richardson, how sad is that story?  I know my daughter loved her in the new "Parent Trap" with Dennis Quaid and Lindsay Lohan (when she was normal). She will be sadly missed and I keep her family in my thoughts and prayers.

Looking up some yard/garage sales and estate sales.  Let's hope I'm lucky and find some fabulous goodies!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

I hope your all having a wonderful day!  The weather here in AZ is fantastic around the high 70's low 80's today and Spring is definitely in the air!!

Completed another entry in my Art Journal yesterday and read a great uplifting piece on kellyraeroberts.blogspot.com. and so yesterday my art journal entry was about sharing my dreams, goals and wishes.  So today I plan on starting to "pretending" that I'm already inside the life I've always envisioned.  Because I do believe that sometime we will stop pretending and will actually be living the life we want.  So....start pretending!!

We had a wonderful weekend.  We spent the weekend at my parents house and I don't know who tired out who, my Dad or the Princess.
We also painted and worked in our art journal. Worked outside in the with flowers mostly pruning and etc.  The Princess loves all the flowers and such so were both loving SPRING!!

Here are a couple of my art journal pages that I completed over the weekend.  I'm still trying to figure out my style and how to incorporate what I want to do with the shape that I have.  As usual I'm still a work in progress but I'm enjoying myself and not taking myself so seriously.

Oh but have you guys checked out the new Flea Market Style magazine?  I just discovered it this weekend and it has so many helpful tips and ideas.  I don't know if this is just some random publication or if they produce more but I LOVE, LOVE this magazine!!!!  I didn't find a subscription card so I'm guessing this is a special issue so run out there and grab a copy if you are fond of Flea Market decor!!!  (Sorry, the picture is sideways but I can't figure out how to turn it around)

See ya tomorrow!

Saturday, March 14, 2009

Well, we survived Friday the 13th, LOL.  I didn't realize it was yesterday to late in the day!   And as promised here are a couple of pages from my art journal.  I am finding it hard to be really creative due to its size and shape but I think as I go along the creativeness will come out.  If you have any suggestions let me know.  Oh and does anyone know what pens work well on painted pages besides the sharpie pens?  I tend to have problems with some of them.

Our poor pooch is still limping away but I think it's better than yesterday. I'll keep you posted.  Well, were off to Pa and Grandma's house for the day.  Have a great weekend, see you Monday!

Friday, March 13, 2009

As promised here are a few pages from my art journal, now mind you these are still works in progress.  Doing the background pages was so much fun!  I will show you a couple of completed pages soon.  It has been busy here.

OMG, have any of you discovered Ballard Designs?  I just received my catalog and I want one of everything.  They really carry some great stuff and the prices aren't too bad.  It's probably a good thing they don't have a store here other wise we would be in serious trouble.

Well, let's see .... our beloved Smokey (our dog) has a limp.  I just discovered this yesterday and I'm not sure what he did.  I mean I let him out as usual in the morning and let him in after a couple of hours (he needed to do his business outside, thank you) and he came in with a limp.  It's is rear left leg.  I checked it out and he doesn't cry out or anything when I touch it or move it up and down.  I look at his toes and they looked fine but today he hardly puts any weight on it.  But it hasn't dampered his spirit any, he still continues to jump on the sofa, play with his toys and room to the front door when he hears something.  So I wonder if he may have twisted something or pulled something.  I thought I would give it till the end of the weekend and see what happens.

Well, that's it for now...have a great weekend!

Tuesday, March 10, 2009

I saw this on Ali Edwards Blog and I absolutely love it, I'm sure it will end  up in my cart along with a few other things.  Still working hard on my art journal will share pic's of some of the beginning stages.  I just might make another entry today.

Not having that great of a week DH told me some news yesterday regarding "some interesting" job opportunities in NE.  This through me for a loop considering when our daughter was born we had decided that certain circumstances would have to present themselves before we ever considered moving out of state, and they haven't yet.  So for now I'm praying about this.

Have a great day,
Christine

Monday, March 9, 2009

It seems I am having problems with uploading pictures so no pic's today.    Had a wonderful weekend.  Princess and I went to Mystic Paper to take a look around and ending up by far too many goodies.  Darn that Tim Holtz and those great products for scrapbooking, mixed media, and jewlery making.   Oh and I did purchase some of Claudine Hellmuth paint and paint brushes most of her products were gone.  But I purchased enough to last a few months.

I am still working on my art journal and so far so good, Debbie Hodge has such a great class!  Still trying to sell my dining room table on Craigslist and it's such a shame it's such a great dining room set and I can't sell it for $300.00  :  ( and people seem to want it for free $100, It's can such an insult.  I know times are tough but really $100.00??

My family and I tried a new Church yesterday and it was nice but different.  I grew up Catholic and my husband Methodist so for compromise we decided on a Christian church.  My DH and I both liked the new church but it did have a something that we just didn't grasp.  So alas we find out more about it and also try another next Sunday.  We will find  a home church it's really important to our family!

Anyway, I hope you had a wonderful weekend and a great week!

These are on sale at Michaels 20 for a $1.00.  I love these brushes they really come in handy so you know I bought my share!

I am taking a class from Debbie Hodge Art Journaling 101 and working my way through so I can take Art Journaling 102.  So I have been busy with my art journal and I will post pictures as I go along.

Not much going on today.  I have a few errands to run but that's about it.  It's a bit cloudy and cool right now I hope the weather stays this way.  I mean we're not even into spring yet and the temps have been reaching the high 80's or low 90's.

You know I must be really slow but I started listening to books via CD while I work.  I am currently listening to Bones to Ashes by Kathy Reichs.  You the forensic anthropologist that the show Bones is based on.  I love that show!!!  And Kathy books are great!!

I don't remember whether or not I mentioned that I joined an online bookclub over at Robin's nest.  We are currently reading "The Host" by Stephanie Meyer.  If this goes well I'm thinking about starting my own bookclub.  Would anyone be interested?

Have a great day!

I found this pencil box at Borders last Saturday.  I love it!!  I have been on the owl bug for the last 6 months I just can't get enough.  I'm still looking for a stuffed owl I just haven't found the right one.

Here are some goods I found at Michael's.  The journal was $3.00 and the note cards a package of 8 is only $1.00 so I loaded up on some for either Mother's Day or Christmas. I like to do my holiday shopping as I see it even if it isn't for another 9 months.  LOL!!

I have been buying my daughter's Easter goodies since last month and I'm just about done. Just a couple of chocolate bunnies.

You know I only like four posts from 100...I'm thinking about a giveaway.

Take care-

I try to blog every morning but time just gets a way from me sometimes.   Spent most of the morning running around town and now I'm trying to get over this headache that I have had off and on the last three days.   I'm not sure if it's a sinus thing or if it's time for my eyes to be checked.  So tomorrow I plan on making eye appointments for the three of us.  I try to get everyone to go at least once a year.

Have you ever been to Trader Joes?  They always have the best stuff.  I love the Lemonade, Chocolate covered preztels and the sparkling pink Lemonade.  We're trying to give up soda and this is really a nice alternative.

I have a few creative ideas and now I just need to get them on paper.  Oh BTW if you haven't checked out Tim Holtz's website you must go now.  He has such cute/cool stuff coming out soon and I just love everything!!   While your checking out his site be sure to check out the Demo's they are so cool!

Monday, March 2, 2009

Wow, we're really into March now, my goodness time fly's.   Ohhhh but Spring is just around the corner......   The temps here in Arizona have been in the high 80's to 90's this week and it's feels like summer sometimes and I am not looking forward to that at all!

I have been working on a scrapbook page that I finally finished and will take a photo of it soon and starting to come up with ideas for Mother's Day, to say I need to get them thought of and finished by April is understatement.  For some reason everything has some sort of urgency for me it must be completed now!!!   But what if it's not?  Well, life isn't so great for me not sure where that comes from but that's why we have medication to even things out, right?  Which reminds me I have a couple of prescriptions I need to pick up today.

Anyway, saw this lamp at
"The Land of Nod" www.landofnod.com and I fell in love with it.  I just may have to make a purchase.   Let's see how we still feel about it this weekend.

Oh and check out this Book bin also for Land of Nod, I would need at least two of these for my daughter's room or even "our" studio.  Hmm something else to ponder about this week.
I can tell this store is a big no no for me...they have so many great things.  Check it out for yourself.

Have a great day!
