O.k. I haven't worked on anything artsy but what I have been doing is figuring out some sort of decorating plan.  I HATE, HATE  this couch but since I choose the one in the living room DH wanted to choose the one in the family room and what you can't tell is that the two end chairs recline.  And if I leave it the way it is it just doesn't go with my Shabby Chic design I have in mind and DH won't part with them so I'm left to find some sort of slipcover for this hideous couch.

So I need some help does anyone know where I can find a slipcover that doesn't cost an arm and a leg and while were at it a rug that is at least

5x7 that is under $100.00.  I have tried Craigslist and I just can't seem to find anything out here.

When we first moved into our new house I wanted to decorate every room Shabby Chic. Well, I have only now come to the conclusion that may work for the rest of the house but not for a 4.5. year old little girl's room. So now I'm thinking bright colors (the wall color will remain the same a oatmeal color) but I was thinking about something like the in the picture. I just love the colors. So I'm off to check out IKEA online and see what I find before I head to the store. If you have ever been in IKEA you know what I mean when I say check out online first!

16 Things

1)  I am a SAHM

2) I love antiques and currently trying to find a book for beginners (antiquing for 

    beginners) I wonder if there really is a book out there.

3) I love Diet Pepsi with ice during any kind of weather.  I don't drink coffee or tea.

4) The one place I would love to live is in Oregon. Maybe in Eugene. I have been

    there a couple of times and have such great experiences my DH hasn't been

    able to go with me but I think we would both have to go before we make our 

    final decision where to lay our roots.

5) I love pink and robin egg blue.  These were two colors I hated until a couple of 

    years ago.  Who would of thought that now I need to have these colors in my 

    house.  LOL

6) My husband grew up in a small town in Nebraska and I grew up in Santa 

    Monica, CA who would of thought the two of us would ever meet and get 

    married.  It's true opposites attract!

7) I love my MacBook Pro.  

8) I'm trying to talk myself into learning how to use Photoshop Elements 4.0 and I     just can't seem to get the hang of it.  But I will not be defeated I will press on.

9) I have a Nikon D40 and I have yet to master that.  That's another item to add

    to my growing list.

10) I love taking pictures and would love to showcase pictures in a book.

11) I am a neat freak of sorts and I can't stand dishes in the sink!

12) I'm not fond of grocery shopping but it must be done and I insist on using 

      coupons.

13) I love to watch all CSI's, Bones and watching Paranormal State.

14) I often worry about whether an antique I might purchase is haunted or 

      possessed. 

15) Often wonder what I'm doing wrong that my pictures sometimes have small

      little lines through them even though I have cleaned and re-aligned my 

      printer.   I also wonder what is the best photo paper to use.

16) I often wonder why it's so hard to make friends with people who are interested

      in the same hobbies as I am and able to make friends with those who hate

      my hobbies.  Weird I know.  But I'm still trying.  : )

Isn't the shower curtain above fantastic what makes it even better is that is on sale at Target for under $20.00!  Can you believe that?!  I may just have to go and check it out in person.  

How about this one also found at Target it's called Antoinette Shower curtain and it retails around $35.00.  Both of these shower curtains are beautiful and I'm not sure which one I will come home with.  It depends on which one I find at Target first.  LOL.

Thought I would share some pictures from over the weekend.  As I mentioned the Princess and I stayed over Pa and Grandma's house and let me tell you she had a ball being the center of attention but then again who wouldn't.   

DH is off today from both jobs and it was such a treat to take the Princess to school together and then have a breakfast.  We so rarely get any really quality time together.   

I had to include a picture of Smokey I gave him a hair cut last week as well as a bath and it looks like he could use a bit of both again.  Maybe this Friday, I have to do these things when the Princess is in school otherwise there would be a huge mess.

The weekend if finally upon us and with DH working this weekend the Princess and I will be spending tomorrow night at Pa and Grandma's house. We're still trying to figure out whether or not to take her bike.  Pa and Grandma's house is on a cul de sac so it's a great place to ride so more than likely we will take it with us.  

The Princess' chin is healing rather well the bump is much smaller but now it's yellow, purple and red. Again, I'm just glad that she didn't hurt her jaw or teeth.  

I'm still working on my little project and it's really not a terribly consuming project but I just haven't been in the mood to do anything creative.  I have been reading blogs and it seems like everyone is on a creative roll and I have been hoping that just by reading and seeing other blogs that something would trigger my creative juices but nothing has.  It's starting to become such a bummer I mean I have a designated craft room I'm not creating makes me wonder if I should just turn it into another guest room or library.  It's so depressing.  

I guess it's hard being the only person into scrapbooking, mixed media, antiquing, crafting and etc.  My friends just don't seem to get into it and you know with the way the economy is money is too tight to take some of the classes I would love to take.  I mean $75.00 for 2-3 hours and you bring all the supplies I don't know I just can't justify the cost.

Oh, listen to me I sound so whiny that's not the point the point is I'm in a funk and I need to find a way out.    What do you do when you get in a funk?

Well, there really hasn't been much creating the last couple of days.  The Princess tripped on something and hit her chin smack on the family room table.  I heard a hard knock followed by a loud cry.  I wasn't more than 6' away and I nearly had a heart attack when I saw the big knot that was forming on her chin.  I immediately checked to make sure she didn't knock any teeth out luckily she didn't but she did have a huge knot and it was starting to turn black and blue.  We immediately put ice on it and for the rest of the night there was a lot of cuddling, watching Sponge Bob and coloring. I felt so bad my dh and I are always telling her to slow down and not run but kids just do what they want sometimes.   The Princess is doing a lot better today and as you can see she still has a big mark. 

Planning on working on a project today will share when it's complete.

O.K. while at Target the other I was roaming the store just to see what was in and what new stuff they had on display.  Well, there are too many things I love in that store to mention but here are two items that I am coveting right now. The first photo is a 12 drawer table now the drawers are short and not very deep but perfect for button, brads, yarn, thread and etc.  So love this oh and the second photo is of two three tier stand.  I believe the 12 drawer table was $199.00 ea. and the three tier stand is $99.00 ea.   I really like them both but I'll wait till they go on sale because I really don't have a need for either one right now.  But you never know what the future might hold.

Can you believe it's Friday where does the time go??  I have a feeling that if I don't stop and journal (in my art journal) that the year will just cruise by; it's important to stop and reflect on our daily lives and everyday is a new memory.

Now here are the goodies I purchased at Target the other day.  Every thing you see with the exception of the apron (I think) was $1.00 I believe that the apron was $2.50.  The skull bag is for me LOL and the clear paper weight (I purchased three) are gifts for Mother's Day.  The other goodies are for Princess for Valentine's Day.  I still have a few more goodies to add in her bag but this is the bulk of the goodies.   Stay tuned for tomorrow and I'll share what I'm coveting right now.

Have you heard about SKYPE?         It's free software that you can use on your lap top/ computer and be able to talk/see your family and friends and then you can upgrade to two other programs that they have. This is really a cool idea and software so if you haven't heard about it go here www.skype.com and learn all about it.

You know one of the coolest things about following blogs i.e Sweetjessi.com is that you can discover other blogs and Etsy stores.  While I was lurking around on Sweetjessi.com I discovered another blog and Etsy store chetanddot.blogspot.com and she has the cutest gifts in her Etsy store.

As many of you know I have been racking my brain for a while now trying to figure out how to decorate our home "shabby chic" I think I finally have an idea or inspiration. I found this picture of Chez Fifi's living room on flickr and I have to tell you I LOVE IT!!!

The coffee table is beautiful and you can barely see it but it looks like she has a sofa table on the left of the picture and I LOVE IT too! So now it's just a matter of finding pieces like these to incorporate into our living room. Oh let's not forget that I will need to get an additional sofa as well.
But I think we can do it little by little after all Rome wasn't built in a day.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!   Another year and time to pick another "New" word now if you follow Ali Edwards (http://aliedwards.typepad.com) you know what I'm talking about if not go and check it out.  I haven't really thought about my new word but I'm planning on picking one by tonight so I will let you know tomorrow.  

I have also decided to participate in a Round Robin now I haven't done one of these in over two years but I'm anxious to start.  The theme is Valentines Day I'll either show you here on the blog or on flickr I'll keep you posted.   But for now I have supplies to look for so have a great day!
